bed leveling is a waste of time

i've seen endless threads preaching perfect bed level every single print?? honestly it's just noise... most PLA prints will stick fine with a rough level, you waste hours tweaking and still get the same result?? stop treating it like a holy ritual, just get the job done lol i don't care if the first layer is a bit uneven, the model will still look fine after a few coats??

Do I need to use support structures for overhangs in PLA prints?

I’ve been printing with PLA on a Prusa MK3 using the stock profile. Some overhangs at 45 degrees start to sag, so I added supports. I’m wondering if this is normal or if others usually tweak the settings instead of adding supports. What are the typical settings for overhangs in PLA, and when should you add supports? Also, any tips for keeping the print quality high without too much support material would be appreciated.

3D printing waste

Anyone else tired of all the failed prints piling up? I've got a whole box of misprinted parts and I don't know what to do with them. Is there a better way to handle this or are we all just hoarding plastic junk?

Warped print with new PLA

So I've been noticing that my 3D prints have been warping pretty badly lately, and I've isolated the issue to my new batch of PLA filament. I've tried messing with the bed temperature and the first layer gap, but nothing seems to be working. I've also made sure that my print bed is level and that my belts are properly tightened. Does anyone have any experience with warping using PLA? What are some common issues that could be causing this? I'm pretty sure it's not the filament itself, since it's from a reputable brand, but maybe there's something I'm missing? I've been printing with ABS for so long, I feel like I've forgotten some of the nuances of working with PLA. Any advice or troubleshooting steps would be great, thanks!

Finally dialed in my 3D print settings

I was having some issues with warping on my last few prints, but I think I've finally sorted it out. I adjusted the bed temperature and recalibrated the Z-axis, and the results have been spot on. The test prints I ran last night came out perfect, with no signs of warping or layer shifting. It's a relief to have that figured out, as I was starting to get frustrated with the inconsistency. Has anyone else had to deal with similar issues, and if so, how did you troubleshoot them?

3d printed a cat sculpture that looked like a pile of melted crayons... and charged $500 for it. what's your worst pricing fail??

so there i was at a craft fair last year... first time selling my 3d printed 'art'... tbh i had zero idea what i was doing. i made this... thing... that was supposed to be a 'modern abstract cat' but it just looked like someone puked plastic near a toaster. i had a sign that said 'limited edition' and 'handcrafted with love'... and i priced it at $500. no joke. one guy actually bought it because he thought it was a 'postmodern commentary on consumerism' or some bs. i still have the receipt... it haunts me. imo this is why we can't have nice things. how do people even set prices without straight up robbing their customers??

questioning support material

just had a thot rn why do ppl still use so much support material in 3d printing doesnt it just waste resin and make post processing a nightmare tbh i feel like were just used to doing it this way cuz thats how it was always done but is it really nec? ive been experimenting with dif orientations and models to minimize the amnt of support needed and its been pretty interesting so far lol idk maybe im just being stupid and theres a reason every1 uses so much support but it seems like therd be a better way

3D printed Kyusu spout worse than PLA clogs?

How am I forced to print a Kyusu spout like this? I’ve been battling my Ender-3 overhangs for 24hrs. The resin support structures look like a melted bridge but won’t release. Even tried 0.1mm layer resolution and ended up with a spout that sags 4 layers down. Every ‘tiny’ tweak just adds hours to the mess. This makes the tea steep time look rushed. Any resins here that actually flow like sencha water from a real Kyusu?
