#beneteau

so i was talking to this guy at the marina and he swore by his beneteau first 40 for coastal cruising i've got a jeanneau sun odyssey 379 and i've had no issues with it but i'm wondering if i'm missing out. anyone have experience with both? what's the real difference between the two in terms of handling and maintenance? i've heard the beneteau has a more forgiving hull design but that's just hearsay at this point

so i was out on my beneteau first 22 rn and i realized ive been messing up my sail trim bad. specifically with the genoa, i was over trimming and killing my upwind performance. been reading some sailing forums and apparently thats a rookie mistake. anyone else have experience with this? what are some tips for optimizing sail trim on a first 22? imo its pretty frustrating when you know youre not getting the most out of your boat
