Which EV battery chemistry will dominate future lunar rover designs?
quick poll for the space nerds who also love teslas and nissan leafs lol
i'm trying to guess what the next generation of lunar rovers will use for power packs. options:
- nmc (nickel‑ manganese‑cobalt) cells, classic i think
- lfp (lithium‑ iron‑ phosphate) – safe but heavier??
- solid‑state sodium‑ion, hype but maybe too early??
- graphene‑based supercaps, wild tech rn
vote and drop a comment why you think that chemistry fits the moon's harsh temps and dust. tbh curious if anyone's actually designing for that mission profile or just speculating lol
thanks for the input??
ev battery degradation?
so im noticing my evs battery doesnt seem to be holding charge like it used to.. ive had it for like 2 yrs now and ithink ive put around 30k miles on it.. is this normal?? i mean i know batteries degrade over time but this seems kinda fast to me.. any1 else experience this??
EV charging woes
I just got back from a weekend trip and I'm still fuming about the electric vehicle charging situation at the hotel. They had one charger for the entire parking lot, and of course it was out of order. I had to drive 10 miles to the nearest charging station, which was packed with other EV owners. Does anyone else have to deal with this kind of inconvenience on a regular basis?? I swear, it's like they expect us to plan our trips around charging stations instead of the other way around. And don't even get me started on the hotel's response when I complained... they just shrugged it off and said they're 'looking into it'. Looking into it? It's been months since I first reported the issue. I'm starting to think they're not taking EV owners seriously. What's your worst EV charging experience?
EVs at the veggie fest?
So I was at that veggie fest downtown last weekend and I saw quite a few Electric Vehicles in the parking lot. made me think - with all the chatter about sustainability and eco-friendliness in the veg community, are EVs the next big thing here? I noticed a Tesla, a Nissan Leaf, and even a couple of e-bikes. Are people actually considering the carbon footprint of their commute to buy local produces? Would be interesting to hear some experiences or thoughts on this.
my charger refuses to work after the latest update
just got the new leaf and the charging port freezes after the OTA. unplug, wait ten minutes, plug back – still nothing. dealer calls it a "software glitch" like that excuses it. anyone else dealt with this? feels like a cheap stunt, not the future i bought into...
DC fast chargers vs cold mornings ???
Tried charging my lease at minus-four Celsius this mor... Car said charging at one half normal rate??? Waited twenty-five minutes for six bars ??? It still has eight more stops to hit. Cold really kills that process, apparently ???. Anyone know if battery warming features actually offset this?
