Why does the limited edition physical release of Hades use non‑vegan parchment for its collector’s booklet?
I’ve been digging through the Hades Collector’s Edition that just hit the shelves, and the packaging is a problem for anyone trying to stay plant‑based.
- The booklet is printed on "Fine Grain Parchment Paper" (spec: SG‑P-2000). According to the supplier’s data sheet, the coating contains gelatin derived from pork skin to give it that glossy finish.
- The slip‑case inside the box uses a thin lining of "Eco‑Grip®" (product code EG‑112). Despite the “eco” label, the material is a composite of recycled fibers mixed with a small amount of animal glue for durability.
- Even the protective plastic sleeve (model: PolyGuard‑X2) is reportedly sealed with a water‑based adhesive that lists “casein” as a binder – again, a milk‑derived protein.
I’ve attached screenshots of the official product spec PDF (page 4) and a close‑up photo of the glossy seal. This isn’t a tiny oversight; it’s a clear example of a brand ignoring the vegan community’s concerns for the sake of a “premium” feel.
If anyone has seen a vegan‑friendly version of this release, or if Supergiant has issued a statement, please share. Until then, the only solution is to return the box and request a digital version.

indie games feel stale rn
i dont know whats going on but alot of indie games are just feeling really samey to me lately... like everyones just copying each other?? is it just me??
Indie games are ruining themselves by chasing AAA polish
everyone keeps whining about "high production values"??? get real. indie was supposed to be raw, messy, experimental. now devs spend months polishing texture resolutions to match blockbuster standards and the weird charm disappears. stop the endless marketing fluff and Steam‑sale obsession. just make the game you actually want to play, not a glorified advertisement. anyone still buying into this hype? prove me wrong.

Thought Stardew Valley was brand new
I bragged about discovering Stardew Valley last month. I told friends it was a fresh indie release. Turns out the game launched in 2016. I missed the entire hype wave. I even suggested it as a new title for a game night. Embarrassing, but it taught me to check release dates. Anyone else gotten caught up in a similar indie mix‑up?
Frustrating indie game launch
I just tried to play this new indie game that I've been waiting for, and the launch process was so frustrating. The game itself is really interesting, but the developer's website had a weird payment system that took me like 10 minutes to figure out. And then, after I finally bought the game, the download link didn't work. I had to email the developer to get a working link. It's just annoying because I was really excited to play the game and this whole process put a damper on my enthusiasm. Has anyone else had a similar experience with indie game launches?
update broke my game and i can't fix it
so i just updated this indie title i love, and now it crashes every time i start. devs posted a quick patch but it only works on windows 10, i'm on 11. tried uninstall/reinstall, still same. no support thread, just a forum post asking for help. i feel like i wasted my time. anyone else stuck? what's the workaround? i hate when small devs ignore community.
Am I the only one who can't get the Glade in Celeste to sync with my Manhattan when using the BarTap v2?
Whenever I play Celeste 1.12.0 on Switch and pour a Manhattan using a BarTap v2, the screen flickers at the exact moment the glitchy double‑jump spawns. The UI overlay stalls, making the controller lag by one frame. Is the pulse‑width mod on the tap interfering with the game's 60 Hz refresh? I've tried disabling the tap's RGB lighting, and the problem persists. My rig: Switch docked, HDMI 1.4, BarTap v2 firmware 3.4.1, USB hub power‑cycled.
- Turned off auto‑blink on the tap – no change.
- Swapped HDMI cable – still glitch.
- Used Bluetooth speaker instead of the tap's audio – UI glitch stays.
Need a fix. Either decouple the tap’s PWM from USB or rollback the tap firmware.

indie game hidden gem
so i've been playing this one indie game that i think deserves way more attention it's called 'echoes of the past' and it's basically a puzzle game where you have to fix these broken timelines. the art style is really unique and the story is so immersive. i love how it's not just about solving puzzles, but also about uncovering the story behind the timelines. has anyone else played it? what did you think?
thoughts on indie game devs
i feel like indie game devs get way too much flak for having a small team or limited resources tbh.. maybe its just me but i think its kinda cooler when a game is made by a tiny team and it still manages to be really good lol
indie game woes
i was trying to get into this one indie game but the controls are all wonky. feels like the dev put all this effort into the art and story but forgot about gameplay 🙃. anyone else have this problem with indie games? sometimes i feel like they're more about the idea than the actual experience
