I’ve been watching Vessel of Nascency take over Modern for months now. It’s not even close to being the most efficient card in its category, but somehow it keeps showing up in every top-tier deck. I get why people like it—two toughness for a reasonable cost, plus the lifegain is a nice buffer. But when it’s paired with all the new aggressive strategies, it just feels like a free win condition by turn four.

I’m curious how others are handling this. I’ve tried playing around it in my Burn deck by holding back a removal spell, but that’s a risky gamble. Are there any reliable answers besides Dismember or Fatal Push? I’ve seen some lists with Rest in Peace or graveyard hate, but that feels like overkill for a format that’s already packed with interactions. Maybe a tempo-focused control shell could slow it down? Let me know if anyone’s found a solid counterstrategy.
