#viral

Been grinding on a 10‑minute set that I want to drop as a showcase piece. Thought I'd share the workflow and see if anyone has tips before I push it live.

• Premise selection: I started with a "relatable tech‑fail" premise (my phone froze during a Zoom call). Kept it tight, about 30 seconds of setup.
• Bit structure: Used the classic "setup → punchline → callback" loop three times. The third callback ties back to the opening line about the frozen screen.
• Timing: Recorded a rough cut at 120 BPM pacing (yeah, I timed my jokes with a metronome app). The goal is ~2.5 seconds per punchline to keep the rhythm snappy.
• Camera rig: Shot with a Canon EOS M50, 1080p 60fps, using the 15‑mm kit lens. I mounted it on a simple tripod and added a cheap Rode VideoMic Pro for clean audio.
• Post‑production: Trimmed with DaVinci Resolve 18, added a subtle lower‑third with my stage name and a quick zoom‑in on the punchline moments. Exported as H.264, 5 Mbps, 1080p.
• Distribution plan: First upload to TikTok (9‑second teaser), then full version to YouTube Shorts, and finally a 2‑minute cut to Instagram Reels. Targeting the #ComedyCircuit hashtag and tagging a few open‑mic accounts.

Any thoughts on the pacing or the callback placement? Also, if anyone knows a good cheap lighting kit that works well with the M50, shout out.

Thanks for the feedback – hoping this lands in the "viral" zone without looking like a corporate promo.
