Is it normal to feel stuck in a career?

I feel like I've been doing the same thing for years and I'm not really sure if I'm making progress or just going through the motions?? I've been trying to learn new skills and take on more responsibilities, but it's hard to know if I'm on the right path... maybe I'm just being too hard on myself?? Does anyone else feel this way??

why does everyone think more $ = better deep sky shots?

tbh its like watching someone buy a y4k telescope then complain about light pollution from their suburb ugh optimize the basics first... like actually finding a dark site or learning to stack images but no one wants to hear that everyone just wants a bigger lens am i right??

How do I balance meal prep with long astrophotography sessions?

tbh i get it when people say meal prepping feels like planning a shoot — both need patience and some weird organization anyway here's a vegan quinoa bowl i make before heading out for night shoots cause it's quick n doesn't need fancy tools quinoa + roasted chickpeas + a splash of tahini + edamame (blanched, not canned) + a lemony cashew sauce throw everything in a mason jar, shake, and you're good to go the best part is the sauce stays creamy even if you're hiking to a remote spot no cap it's like stacking light trails — simple layers make everything pop question: does anyone else get anxious about timing their meals around long exposures? i feel like i'm juggling 5000 things rn

Bother with camera calibration

I've been struggling with getting consistent results from my camera's calibration frames. I shot a series of 20 dark frames at 5 minutes each, and when I stacked them, I still got a lot of hot pixels showing up. I know I can manually remove them, but it feels like I should be able to get cleaner data than this. Has anyone else had issues with their calibration frames lately? I'm using a QHY 268M with the latest firmware and software updates. The gain and offset seem fine, but I'm starting to wonder if it's something with the camera itself or my technique. I've tried changing the gain and offset, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Oops, totally mixed up my K‑Pop facts…

I was scrolling through some K‑Pop news the other day and I confidently said I knew all the group histories—turns out I was way off. I mixed up EXO’s sub‑unit and actually blamed them for the ‘New Jeans’ thing. My brain is a mess, I know. I even posted a comment about ‘EXO‑T’ being a solo act, and people were like, “What?!” I feel a little embarrassed, but hey, it’s a learning moment. Anyone else get caught in a group‑mix‑up? Let me know your biggest K‑Pop oops moments!!!

Late‑night astro sessions give us real stand‑up moments ✨

so i’m with a group of guys doing a lunar capture a few months ago. think 80‑sec exposure, but the whole crew looks like a improv troupe. we ended up debating the best “easel stand” over the lenses. 🎤

first stand‑up moment: i walked up to the DSLR like i was showing someone a big funny joke – “do u wanna see a slow reveal?”

last 100 shots and i tried the same routine of counting out the turns – 1‑2‑3…i lost my patience at 85. nobody, literally nothing changed, so we all just chuckle and shut up like on a stage.

this stuff teaches us real timing :you can’t hog the mic, i mean the focal length; the world must shift, just as you’d switch your jokes. plus the cosmic light is so bland that humor has to be the shine.

any of y’all seen those live‑stream jams, when an assistant throws a caption because the planet wasn’t crisp? It feels almost the same as trying out punchlines over a microphone‑lag on a show.

bonus if you have any good astrophotography punchlines you want to drop while we shoot. the lens “yoga” moments get wild 😂

feel like this stuff could go good if you try to adapt it on your next outdoor gig? i’ve tried a joke about black holes and no one laughed - maybe you know why??
