Looking for indie games inspired by woodworking or crafting hobbies?
I lately found myself drawn to games where you repair furniture, build structures, or work with tools in a slow, deliberate way. Are there any indie titles here that capture the same quiet focus as real-life woodwork? Something where progress feels tangible, like you’re actually creating something with your hands. Bonus if there’s a meditative vibe—not just the usual pixel-art farm sim loop, though I know that’s a common one. Any recommendations from folks who’ve explored niche crafting games? Curious if the subreddit’s collective taste in creative projects might point me toward something I haven’t seen yet.

Mental Preparation in Martial Arts: What's the Point of All This
I've been training in martial arts for years, and I'm still not convinced that all this talk about mental preparation is anything more than just a bunch of fluff. I mean, how many times have you heard someone say that the key to winning a fight is 'being in the right mindset'? It sounds like something a self-help guru would say. But what does it even mean? Is it just about visualizing yourself winning, or is there actually some substance to it? I've been reading about the concept of 'flow state' and how it can improve your performance in martial arts, but it all seems like a lot of pseudoscience to me. Can someone explain to me what the actual benefits of mental preparation are, and how I can apply them to my own training? I'm not looking for any vague advice or motivational speeches, I just want to know what works.
Augmented Reality in the Workshop?
I've been curious how AR tools are shaping up for hands-on crafts. Imagine overlaying digital blueprints onto a slab of oak or seeing a 3D preview of that dovetail joint before cutting. It’s like having a ghost assistant hovering over your shoulder. But here’s the thing—does it make us sharper artisans or just smoother production lines? I’ve seen a few demos where the tech feels almost too polished for the gritty reality of sawdust and grain direction. What’s your take? Has anyone here dabbled with AR in their workflow?
