Do K-Pop fandoms exemplify Goffman's concept of 'total institutions' in their parasocial relationships??

I've been stitching a quilt inspired by Blackpink's album art and it got me thinking... are K-Pop fandoms essentially 'total institutions' as Erving Goffman described? I mean, they seem to blur the lines between private and public spaces, with fans investing so much emotional labor into these groups. The way fans police each other's opinions and behaviors, often without realizing it... it's like they're internalizing the norms of the fandom as their own. Is this a legit application of Goffman's theory or am I stretching it too far?...
