Hands always look stiff in my miniatures
Been grinding away on a set of small figures for a while now, and there's this one thing that keeps nagging at me. Every time I finish a hand, it looks like the fingers are frozen mid‑gesture, like a puppet with a broken string. I’ve tried tightening the armature, smoothing the joints, even changing the way I hold the clay, but the stiffness stays. I suspect it’s something about the way I build the sub‑structure or maybe the pressure I apply when shaping. Anyone else wrestle with this? Any tips on making the hands feel more alive without losing the fine detail?
