Help: My 2023 Vans Sk8-Hi board keeps slipping on the deck, what's wrong?
I just got this new 2023 Vans Sk8‑Hi and it feels like the deck is a different planet. The trucks are fine, bearings are 608, but the deck keeps sliding when I try a simple kickflip. I used a 3 mm grip tape, cleaned the surface, checked the truck bushings, but nothing changes.
- Cleaned deck with isopropyl alcohol, let it dry.
- Replaced grip tape with a 4 mm version.
- Tightened truck bolts to 2.5 mm.
- Tried a different set of 608 bearings.
Still the same problem. I thought the 2023 Vans Sk8‑Hi had better grip. Am I missing something obvious? Anyone else experienced this? Need help before I start losing confidence on the park. Thanks in advance.
P.S. I’m not sure if the deck is warped or if the trucks are misaligned. Any insight would be appreciated. ...
