I totally misread the breath count in my morning meditation
So I was doing that 4-7-8 breathing thing you see everywhere, thinking it was the secret to staying calm while I work on my projects. I counted the inhale for four seconds, held for seven, exhale for eight... but I kept messing up the numbers. Turns out I was counting the hold twice, so the whole cycle was way longer than intended. Ended up feeling dizzy and frustrated, not zen at all. I even tried to "fix" it by cutting the hold to five seconds, but then the rhythm felt off and my mind kept wandering to random chores. Funny how a tiny counting error can completely flip the whole experience. Anyone else caught themselves in a similar loop, where a simple misinterpretation of a technique ruined the whole session? Would love some tips on how to double‑check the count without overthinking it.
