Lens Choice: 35mm f/1.4 prime vs 24-70mm f/2.8 zoom for street photography - which yields sharper, more versatile shots?

I’ve been shooting downtown for weeks. Tried a 35mm f/1.4 prime. It feels fast. Low light is a breeze. Bokeh is creamy. But framing changes constantly. I have to move my feet a lot.

Switched to a 24-70mm f/2.8 zoom. One lens covers most focal lengths. Composition stays flexible. Aperture isn’t as wide, so night shots need higher ISO. Sharpness is consistent across the range, but edge‑to‑edge softness appears at 70mm.

Which setup gives better overall sharpness and versatility for street work? I’m leaning toward the prime for its speed, but the zoom’s convenience is tempting. Thoughts? 😊
