I've been delving into the complexities of Norse mythology and I'm having trouble reconciling the different portrayals of Loki. On one hand, he's often depicted as a trickster figure, responsible for the death of Baldur and chaos in the gods' realm. Yet, in some accounts, he's also shown to be a loyal companion to the gods, particularly Odin. What's striking to me is the contrast between the Loki of the Poetic Edda and the Loki of the Prose Edda - the former seems more nuanced, while the latter is downright malevolent.
