Should we keep server-splits if they weaken endgame content?

I've been stuck on this for months... every time a new server split drops, the endgame raids feel shallow. On one hand, splitting helps latency and gives new players a chance. On the other, it drains the guild roster and wipes out established economies. I've seen servers where the split actually revitalized content, but more often it just spreads the talent thin and makes hard modes feel trivial. Is the trade‑off ever justified, or should devs stick to a single world and find other ways to balance load? Any data or personal experience would help—especially how it affected my level‑80 raid guild last year.
