Swatch wars are worse in the third dimension
So I finally got around to making a proper cabled infinity scarf this weekend Bought the suggested cotton blend on recommendations and followed the pattern for the tight twisted 7x8 grid from last fall. The tension test came out fine when laid flat... but once I tried forming that damn thing onto its first circle, the stitch gauge collapsed entirely around the cable centers. Looks like no matter how tight you try to keep your edges with short-rowing techniques around circular patterns, cotton behaves like liquid helium with memory loss every time steam is added for blocking.
