Why Does Applying Polywipe 5500 To Hardwood Flooring Cause Irreversible Damage

I've been reorganizing my kitchen and I stumbled upon this idea that applying Polywipe 5500 to hardwood flooring will give it a sleek look. I mean, who doesn't want their floors to have that perfect shine? Now I'm curious, does anyone have experience with this? I've heard it's got something to do with the chemical properties of the polyurethane in Polywipe 5500 not reacting well with the finishes on hardwood. But that sounds like a load of crap to me. If it's good enough for my kitchen cabinets, why not the floor? I'm calling bs on the whole 'it damages the wood' claim. Somebody please tell me what's really going on here.
