Why does my sestina collapse like a low pressure system?
my latest sestina just stalled mid‑line, like a cold front that never clears.
- i tried a 6‑line envoi, but the rhyme pressure kept dropping.
- the tercet turns felt like gusts, never steady enough for the volta.
- even the final couplet was a drizzle, not the thunderclap i needed.
anyone else get that the meter can act like a barometer? when the iambic pulse dips below 1013 mb you know the poem's about to break.
