Is ethical non-coptic framing overemphasized compared with artistic value during crowded Tokyo captures?
Just back from Odaiba night shoot, spent hours juggling between using 35mm fixed lens to grab candid scenes in neon and avoiding identifiable faces against crowds at Hanakoji. Some say respecting privacy even means framing to mask personal features when composing amidst high density urban areas. Others prefer pure exposure even with partial person recognition. Had a scenario where low ISO at 85-1 shot (trying LED blur) left faces underexposed but kept city lights. Used ND7 to f9@400ms for higher detail with low ambient bleed—seemed acceptable but no one was looking in photo, probably. But if you know someone is in a frame without flash or ND, does anonymity overrule art value for travel ethics?
