Electric Propulsion in General Aviation: Challenges and Opportunities for the Cessna 172
I've been following the recent developments in electric propulsion and its potential impact on general aviation. The Cessna 172, being one of the most popular training aircraft, could greatly benefit from electric propulsion in terms of reduced operating costs and environmental impact. However, there are several challenges that need to be addressed, such as battery weight and charging infrastructure. Has anyone heard about any upcoming projects or initiatives that aim to integrate electric propulsion into the Cessna 172 or similar aircraft? I'd love to hear about any experiences or insights on this topic.
