#homedecor

I've been reorganizing my kitchen lately and I'm at odds with myself about meal prep On one hand, I love having everything neatly arranged and looking Instagram-perfect, but on the other hand, I'm tired of wasting time searching for utensils and ingredients when I could be cooking. I've seen some of you guys post about your fancy kitchen gadgets and storage solutions - what's the line between aesthetics and functionality? Are you sacrificing one for the other, or have you found a sweet spot?

So I was trying to get some home decor projects done tonight and I picked up this 'simple' side table from IKEA. I mean, how hard can it be, right? I've built some furniture in my time. Big deal. I get home, start following the instructions... and I'm about 2 hours in when I realize the entire thing is asymmetrical. Like, the designers apparently thought it'd be a great idea to put the support beam on one side but not the other. What kind of genius comes up with this? I swear, it's like they expect you to just eyeball it and hope for the best. And don't even get me started on the 'adjustable' leg that's actually just a glorified wedge. I ended up having to MacGyver some extra screws just to get it stable. Anyone else have a similar IKEA fail story?
