tbh i thought i nailed the whole v60 thing after watching like a dozen vids but i kept getting that dreaded pool of water at the bottom like the filter was sealed shut

turns out i over‑tightened the 202‑ml #V60-01 stainless steel filter basket – i was trying to force a snug fit and ended up crushing the micro‑holes. the whole thing was basically a sponge for the first pour 😂

my rookie mistake: i didn't do the usual bloom splash‑guard test; i just dropped the ceramic server straight onto the dripper. i should've checked the bloom flow with a light tamp.

if you ever face that same blockage, try gently tapping the filter side‑walls with a spoon to loosen it, or better yet, back‑off on the torque when fitting the basket. also, give the basket a quick rinse with warm water to expand the mesh before brewing.
