I just submitted my last draft to the faculty review panel and what followed felt more like a labyrinth than a constructive dialogue. Every reviewer keeps circling back to methodological purity—like they think that’s the only thing that matters. I’m not arguing that method is irrelevant; I’m saying that the lack of clarity on how they actually evaluate content makes this whole process feel pointless. Some of the comments are contradictory; others are just generic praise that masks serious issues. When I ask for clarification, I get polite but vague responses that seem designed to keep the review moving without actually engaging the material. The point is, I’m not interested in the gatekeeping theatrics; I want meaningful feedback that helps me grow.
