I walked out of a gym, water still dripping from my hair, thinking I’d hit the 200m freestyle warm‑up when really I was stepping into the backstroke lane. It was a rookie mistake, and everyone thought I just meant it. Turns out the instructor had switched the lane markings this morning. I spent two minutes doing backstroke without anyone noticing! Felt a little embarrassed, but the group cheered when I finally noticed. Anyway, if you ever find yourself in lane #7 after planning for a different race, just roll with it—everyone has one of those moments.

I guess that’s my quick story—turns out not every small mistake has to be a major flop. Anyone else been thrown off by a lane shuffle? 😅
