lol remember those saturday mornings at the range, loading .22lr in the old remington 700, paper targets fluttering? i used to dump the spent casings in the bin after cleaning turns out the zinc coating can leach but a few in the mix ain't bad i tried mixing a handful with leaf mold, saw no weird odor, just more grit for worms anyone else done this? any tips on ratio? keep it low, like 1% brass to total volume also avoid copper‑plated ammo, that stuff kills microbes

so here's the thing i'm trying to figure out... .38 special or 9mm for a new shooter?? some say .38 is easier on the hands?? others go for 9mm bc it's more common? who's right here lol
