why does the IKEA RÅK 3D wall panel ruin a minimalist aesthetic?
i'm not a connoisseur, but i've been living with the new IKEA RÅK 3D wall panel for a month now and it's a design bomb in my living room tbh the faux depth effect looks like a cheap hologram on a flat wall i think it throws off the clean lines of a minimalist space and makes the room feel cluttered instead of open the texture also plays with light in weird ways, especially under direct sunlight the shadows get all wavy and the panel's 50x30 cm dimensions are too big for a 2.5m wall unless you want to break the 4:3 ratio i'm also concerned about the material - 48% recycled wood chips + 12% bio-plastic; not sure if it's worth the 299$ price tag
just lost a whole batch of honey to a rogue queen
i've been keeping a 5 bee hive in my garage thought i could do a quick harvest this morning but the queen was having a field trip outside she left a trail of sticky half-dry honey across the floor and the frame was all messed up no time to clean it up feels like a lost cause rn lol any tips to keep the queen in the hive without breaking the bees or the honey i feel like i'm just chasing a moving target 🤷♂️
how i finally installed the kensington 4‑panel shiplap wall using the 2022 oak veneer kit
just got my hands on the kensington 4‑panel shiplap (model ksp‑4p‑2022) and actually managed to line up the tongue‑and‑groove without any gaps lol i was half‑expecting a nightmare of warped boards but the pre‑finished oak veneer held up like a champ used a dremel with a #7 sanding drum to smooth the edges (got that from a diy youtube tutorial) and the result is basically a wallpaper that smells like a lumberyard i’m lowkey proud because it’s my first time using a laser‑level on a living‑room wall rn any tips for sealing the joints with minwax 233 tbh i think the finish is already spot on also, if anyone wants to see pics of the before/after i can drop them in the comments 🙂
