Why does Vinyl Me, Please (Deluxe 180g Reissues) keep shipping warped sleeves and missing inner sleeves?
Got my latest VMP drop (box #VMP-00123, Deluxe 180g) and I'm pissed. The deadwax looks fine, but the jackets are warped enough that they won’t sit flat in my sleeve. On top of that, half the records are missing the standard 12x12 inner sleeves—just a thin poly wrap that doesn't protect the corners.
- Pressing plant listed as GZ Media (Czech) – they claim QC, but the batch clearly slipped.
- Sublimated jackets are coming out with smudged text, especially the limited‑edition series "Cinematic Soundtracks".
- My favorite label, Stax, showed up with a mis‑aligned groove label; the track numbers are off by one.
I’ve been a subscriber for 3 years, paid extra for the "premium inner sleeve" upgrade, and this is the 4th time I’ve had to file a support ticket that goes cold after an auto‑reply. Anyone else seeing this? Is this a new cost‑cutting move or just a shipping nightmare? I’m considering cancelling my subscription, but I really love the curation.
Any thoughts on whether we should collectively call out VMP on socials, or is there a better way to get the quality control they promised?
