Why does my Mercury retrograde always seem to coincide with frame perfect inputs in Dark Souls speedruns
I've been noticing this weird trend where every time Mercury is in retrograde, I somehow manage to pull off these insane frame perfect inputs in Dark Souls. I'm talking about the kind of stuff that requires precise timing and controller inputs, like the infamous Blighttown skip. It's as if the planets are aligning to give me an edge in my speedrunning endeavors. I know it sounds crazy, but has anyone else experienced anything similar? Is there some kind of cosmic force at play here, or am I just experiencing a weird coincidence? I've been using my trusty SCUF controller and I've optimized my route with the help of some TAS tools, but still, it's weird to think that astrology might be influencing my gaming performance.
Is it weird that I use TAS to practice routes?
I've been getting into some of the more technical speedruns lately and I was wondering if anyone else uses TAS (Tool-Assisted Speedrun) to help them learn and memorize routes. I find it's really helping me shave off seconds but it feels kinda...cheaty? I mean, I'm not actually playing the game myself, just letting the TAS software do the work. Do other speedrunners use TAS for practice or is that just me?
