Spent weeks pulling up dead plants and muttering about bad soil, but the first red fruit is hanging on the vine now and it feels like a win. I kept my pots in the same spot for months, hoping the light would do the trick, but that was the stupid part. I started turning the soil every other week, adding a thin layer of compost after the first harvest, and switched to a lighter potting mix with a bit of perlite. Watering changed too – instead of a big drip, I used a small watering can, letting the soil absorb before the next session. The difference shows when you can actually see a plant putting on leaves instead of just shriveling. I’d love to hear what others did to rescue their own tomatoes – soil swaps, watering tweaks, anything that worked for you. Any advice on how to keep the fruit from turning purple in the heat would also be great. This felt more like a science experiment than a hobby, but the result is a big smile on my face and a garden I actually care about.
