Why does book cover design make no sense???
Goddammit... I finally ordered a classic paperweight that looked okay online ?? but when it landed, the cover art is so jarring. Like, why does The Brothers Karamazov keep featuring a closeup portrait of a guy scowling like he lost a bet??? No one thought to ask, ‘does this actually match 19th century Russia vibes?’... or even ‘do people like this????’ I’m 80% of people but can 100% not trust the covers of books I’ve never read, am I right ???
