Why does Poetry 1.9 on macos m1 throw SSL error when installing safetensors==0.3.3
i’m running poetry 1.9 on a macos m1 with Monterey and i keep hitting the same SSL freakout when i do "poetry add safetensors==0.3.3"
error: Error: Could not determine a matching version for dependency safetensors==0.3.3 (found: none) Incompatible environment: 32-bit ?! ssl._ssl.c:721: error:14094418:SSL routines:ssl_choose_client_version:no shared cipher ssl._ssl.c:119: error:14094410:SSL routines:ssl_do_client_hello:unable to generate random numbers
i think it’s a provider load failure: EVP_PKEY_new provider load failure; openssl 3.0 seems to be the culprit
i used: export PATH="$PATH:/opt/homebrew/opt/openssl@3/bin" export LDFLAGS="-L/opt/homebrew/opt/openssl@3/lib" export CPPFLAGS="-I/opt/homebrew/opt/openssl@3/include" export PKG_CONFIG_PATH="/opt/homebrew/opt/openssl@3/lib/pkgconfig"
but it didn’t budge
anyone run into that exact combo (poetry 1.9 + m1 + openssl 3 + safetensors 0.3.3) and found a tweak or a patch? tbh i’ve tried installing the dependency via pip locally and it works, so maybe poetry’s resolver or the build step is where it breaks
lol, any light would be appreciated!!
