Zero hour on the range again
Just left the range and my ball’s still laughing at me. I loaded a double‑action rifle with what should’ve been a clean bolt, turned the firing pin, fired the first shot – the trigger creaks like a rusty old trapdoor and the powder whirls, but no recoil. The brass was a perfect, but silent stack of coins – no crayon. The safety’s a lie on a stubborn lock. Then the bolt had to be opened; when I pulled it back I felt a snap – it went loose and snapped back halfway. I ended up in the back half of the range, scoping a rifle that wouldn’t cooperate. I know you all spend hours doing this; it feels like chasing a dream with the rope cut halfway. What’s a reliable procedure that can get me through these hiccups without spending time pulling it apart each shot? And for anyone still using a manual bolt, you should consider a mechanical indicator—some silent way of knowing your bolt’s dead lock.
Slight shame post: My new addition isn't what I thought...
Let’s cut to it I bought what I thought was a vintage Action Man figure last week. Paid a chunk for it too, feeling all proud about my ‘sharp eye.’ Shuffled boxes of old comics to find it in his original packaging, cool ’80s box art and all. But after a quick deep dive into the box’s tiny print, let me tell ya—it’s a 2013 reissue for a collector line. My bad.
I feel like an idiot, but it’s hard not to get excited these days. The paint’s faded, the plastic feels retro, but the details just don’t add up. Maybe someone here has resell tips or better ways to sniff out fakes? Not sure I’ll ever trust eBay listings after this 😅
How should I handle a sudden 30% rent increase from my landlord?
My lease just got a notice that the monthly rent will jump from $1,200 to $1,560 next month – a 30% increase with only 30 days notice. The building is fully occupied, so I can’t just move out without breaking the lease. I’ve tried asking for a compromise, but the landlord says the market forces are “unavoidable.”
What are my options? Can I legally contest the raise, or is there a standard negotiation tactic that actually works in situations like this? Should I involve a tenant‑rights group, or is it better to look for a sublet? Any concrete steps or templates would be appreciated…

Underrated retro games?
I've been playing through my old consoles lately and I'm looking for something new to try. What are some hidden gems that I might have missed back in the day? I've already played all the classics like Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda, so I'm looking for something a bit more obscure. Anyone have any recommendations?
do u guys display ur duplicates?
ngl hey so like i was organizing my collectibles rn and i realised i have so many duplicates lol is it normal to display them all or do u guys just store them away? i personally like seeing them all out but im curious whats the norm
wrong card in my deck, oops
lol so i had this huge set launch a while back i got my hands on the pretty high mint 1/3 version of the card i'm bragging about i totally mixed it up with the non-holo variant and slid it into my deck during a shuffle to make it look good
turns out a fellow collector noticed it in the final build and just gave me a polite reminder so i could fix it lol it was an honest mistake from the night i opened the crate rn just got over it but it hit me hard
you all know the feeling when your card's different than what the box says it has in the photo but it’s still cool if you’re okay with owning a small horror story to laugh about later
apologizing here so everyone knows i wasn’t pulling a fast one this time my brain totally dozed while i was tearing it out of the packing pad rn
maybe some advice on how to tell the right guy or how to deal with a slightly weird card on the table would be nice
thanks for reading my misstep lol
