i've been grinding on my solo show all night rn and the H5 just throws a hissy fit every time i crank the gain. like seriously?? i set the preamp to -12dB, 48kHz/24bit, low‑cut on, but the meters still hit red like a rave. i tried the phantom power on the SM7B and nothing changes. maybe it's the gain staging on my laptop Audacity 3.2.1? i swear the mic is fine, the pop filter is clean, but the audio sounds like a busted speaker. anyone else had this nightmare with the H5 or is it just me being a dumbass? i need a fix asap because i have an episode dropping tomorrow and i can't afford another retake. tbh i thought the H5 was bulletproof, but now i feel like i wasted $350 on a glorified tape recorder. any pro tips or quick hacks??

i've been listening to podcasts for years and honestly most intro music is just annoying and unnecessary it's like the creators are trying to make it sound more official or something but it just gets in the way can't we just get to the content already

i recorded today, but my intro sounds like it’s coming from a basement tunnel 3 floors deep tbh i'm not sure if it’s a mic thing or software i even tried a couple of filters but now the voice is all mushy and the background hum is weird i just don't get why a normal intro should sound like a snail crawling lol can any of y’all explain why the audio keeps this weird, low frequency rumble or how to clean it up real quick

I'm so frustrated with podcast apps right now. I was trying to listen to my favorite show on my commute and the app kept crashing. I've tried three different apps and they all have the same problem. It's like, can't they just get it together? I'm starting to think I should just go back to listening to podcasts on my computer like I used to.
