EV charging woes

I just got back from a weekend trip and I'm still fuming about the electric vehicle charging situation at the hotel. They had one charger for the entire parking lot, and of course it was out of order. I had to drive 10 miles to the nearest charging station, which was packed with other EV owners. Does anyone else have to deal with this kind of inconvenience on a regular basis?? I swear, it's like they expect us to plan our trips around charging stations instead of the other way around. And don't even get me started on the hotel's response when I complained... they just shrugged it off and said they're 'looking into it'. Looking into it? It's been months since I first reported the issue. I'm starting to think they're not taking EV owners seriously. What's your worst EV charging experience?

help me understand why some scrapbooking apps insist on using legacy cardstock algorithms when modern digital cards outperform them by miles

lol just made the switch to a digital scrapbooking platform and im still trying to figure out why they'd use outdated cardstock sim models. doesnt that just sound like the gaming equivalent of using a gtx 980 instead of a 3080? why would anyone choose worse perfomance just because it looks a bit 'retro'? anyone else dealing with this kinda archaism in scrapbooking software? i havent even dived into the more complex stuff yet and i am already frustrated tbh

Indie games are ruining themselves by chasing AAA polish

everyone keeps whining about "high production values"??? get real. indie was supposed to be raw, messy, experimental. now devs spend months polishing texture resolutions to match blockbuster standards and the weird charm disappears. stop the endless marketing fluff and Steam‑sale obsession. just make the game you actually want to play, not a glorified advertisement. anyone still buying into this hype? prove me wrong.

any thoughts? bring your arguments.

City Project Fluff vs Memories

Glass towers that swallow your wallet but zero drainage for actual sidewalks Developers debate rooftop garden dimensions till 3am while down the street the coffee truck parks on concrete already splitting. This scrapbook isn’t yours. It’s their failed projects—each glossy layout a page we tear up. What good’s a zoning plan no one remembers navigating? Your ‘smart city’ is just a spreadsheet with parking slots and a view from a highway.

Need help restoring old Game Boy label for scrapbook?

I’ve been trying to preserve a faded label from my original Super Mario Bros. cartridge to include in a retro gaming themed scrapbook. Baking soda and q-tip didn’t help, and rubbing alcohol made the ink smudge. Any ideas how to lift the faded text without ruining the paper? Specific product recommendations or techniques would be great. I’ve seen some game labels look almost new when restored—what did folks try back in the early 2000s?

indie game hidden gem

so i've been playing this one indie game that i think deserves way more attention it's called 'echoes of the past' and it's basically a puzzle game where you have to fix these broken timelines. the art style is really unique and the story is so immersive. i love how it's not just about solving puzzles, but also about uncovering the story behind the timelines. has anyone else played it? what did you think?

Felt stupid after 3-hour Catan game...

Spent an evening with friends on a Catan marathon, convinced I pulled off the perfect win using sheep over bricks. Settled up, beers in hand, and one of my mates leans back and goes, 'You... still owed a road expansion card you forgot to pay?' Cut to: whiteboard redo of every turn since round one. Turns out I missed a corner in the rulebook about how those road costs stack if you trade resources sideways.

Now I’m lying awake at 1am, thinking about whether I can time travel back to 2012 and slap myself for forgetting that I learned to play with an older edition. Probably not. But I can make damn sure my next games are playtested with more adult supervision.

Meal prep Container Issues with the Rubbermaid Brilliance 14-Piece Set

i've been using the rubbermaid brilliance 14-piece set for my meal prep and i have to say it's been a mixed bag the containers themselves are great but the lids are kinda finicky sometimes they seal right and other times they dont and it's super frustrating especially when you're trying to pack a salad and you dont want it to get all soggy has anyone else had this issue with this specific set or is it just me

Help: Looking for TOD case studies with 20% FAR and mixed‑use zoning in post‑industrial districts

need solid examples where a transit‑oriented development stuck to a floor‑area ratio of exactly 0.2 and combined residential, light‑industrial and cultural uses. specifically:

  • projects under the 2030 AECOM Smart Cities framework
  • locations that used the NACTO BRT Street Design Guide v3.0
  • any that incorporated a 15 m curbside bike lane with protected parking bays

i've scoured the usual journals and came up empty. if you’ve got PDFs, city reports, or even a decent PowerPoint deck, drop it. also, feel free to tell me why this combo is a bad idea – i’m ready for the pushback.

thanks.
