Bean-as-scarc-good in third-wave vs community roast labs – real class signaling or what?

Why is single-origin obsessia treated with the seriousness of a PhD but bulk roasts dismissed as 'unreliable differentation'? Traceable bean provenance as ascriptive hierarchy... while cooperative micro-lot projects are seen as niche novelty. It’s like status markers in coffee – one’s wrapped in a vacuum pouch, the other needs an invite. Either both are just elaborate stories humans tell each other to justify keeping others down...? Or maybe I need a stronger brew.
