Can Overthinking EQ Settings in Podcast Production be Compared to Overexposing Film?
I've been thinking about the parallels between data science and film photography, and I think there's an interesting comparison to be made between overthinking EQ settings in podcast production and overexposing film. In podcast production, it's easy to get caught up in tweaking EQ settings to get the perfect sound, but at some point, you're just introducing more noise and complexity. Similarly, in film photography, overexposing can lead to blown-out highlights and a loss of detail. Is it possible that podcast producers are suffering from a similar case of 'technological creep' where we think more control and precision always leads to better results? Or am I just taking it too far?
