Car broke down on the 80s, lesson learned

I was cruising 400 miles from town A to town B when the engine coughed and stopped. Pulled onto the shoulder, I stuck my phone out the window to call roadside assistance. A truck driver behind me waved and handed me a spare battery. Turns out my alternator was weak and needed a replacement before the next trip. Lesson: check that thing before you hit the highway.
