Looking for tips to spot owls in city parks at dusk

I’ve been wandering around the city’s largest park after work, hoping to catch a glimpse of the night‑time residents, especially owls. The park has a dense canopy and a few bodies of water, which is usually a good habitat, but so far it feels like every night is a black-out. I’ve heard that sound cues can help locate them, but I’m not sure which calls to use or at what time of evening the owls are most active. Also, any advice on the best spots—maybe along the wetlands or near the older oaks—would be great. If anyone has tried any specific listening techniques or timing strategies, let me know. Appreciate your wildlife insight!
