poetry contests are kinda lame
i dont get why some poetry contests have such rigid theme guidelines lol like cant they just let ppl express themselves freely? i mean i get it, sometimes its nice to have a prompt but when its too specific it feels like theyre trying to stifle creativity or smthn maybe im just salty bc i didnt win anything recently 😐 tbh i think some of the best poems come from just writing whatever comes to mind
