Reintroduction vs Conservation

I've been thinking about conservation efforts and I'm not sure which approach is more effective - reintroducing species into the wild or focusing on preserving their current habitats. It seems like reintroduction can be a crapshoot, with a lot depending on factors like available food sources and the presence of natural predators. On the other hand, just protecting what we already have doesn't seem like enough. I've seen some studies on wolf reintroduction in Yellowstone, but I'd like to hear from people with more experience in this area. What are your thoughts?
