I've been following some contemporary illusionists and I'm struck by how often they rely on old-school sleight of hand techniques. Not that there's anything wrong with that - some of the classics still blow minds. But it feels like there's a missed opportunity to incorporate more advanced tech or misdirection methods. Anyone else think this? Are there any performers out there pushing the boundaries of what's possible with illusions?
