the storytelling hype is killing punchlines

idk i get the whole 'personal narrative' thing but honestly it feels like a therapy session more than a set rn. jokes used to be tight, surprise, one‑liners that hit fast. now we sit through 15‑minute life stories that barely land a laugh. the longer you go the more you lose momentum and it's too easy to hide weak material behind a 'story' veneer tbh. i miss the old school where you could drop a joke and move on. if you want real laughs cut the fluff and get back to the joke
