podcast editing is overrated
i think people put way too much emphasis on editing in podcast production... like whats the point of cutting out every single um or pause?? it sounds so unnatural and fake... i mean ive listened to some podcasts where theyre trying to make it sound like a movie or something and its just not necessary... sometimes the mistakes and imperfections are what make it sound real... what do you guys think??
Help: how do i tweak my Fujifilm X100V travel shots in Lightroom to get that 70mm cinematic vibe?
got a bunch of snaps from a trip to iceland, using the x100v, and i wanna make them look like a 70mm lens i tried using the preset, but it feels too flat any presets, curves, or color grading steps i can drop in? also if anyone has a quick workflow for night shots, that would be sweet i'm not a pro, so keep it simple
Help: How to decide between Sony A7R IV and Canon R5 for capturing ultra‑narrow streets in daylight
I’m currently mapping out shots of the new radial boulevards the city just announced. The buildings rise close together and daylight hits hard, so I need something that reads straight, delivers contrast in wide apertures, and can handle fast shutter speeds when the wind is picking up on the ridge. I’m comparing two top choices:
- Sony A7R IV (RF‑24‑70mm f/2.8) – 61 mp sensor, superb low‑noise at high ISO, 30 Hz shutter blur; fits my budget but battery life is borderline in extreme light.
- Canon R5 (RF‑24‑105mm f/4L) – 45 mp, in‑body stabilisation works great for handheld but my 120 fps action mode feels shaky in tight alleyways.
Specs I’m chewing on: • Sensor crop factor + focal length → effective 54 mm vs 98 mm. • 500 lux D‑Lite tests with f/5.6 highlight recovery. • ISO‑3200 grain in 50‑ish min light. • Memory card speed – my current S4k‑520GB need fast 480 Mb/s.
Would love any user‑story on shooting similar geometry: do you lean to a Sony‑style sharpness, or do Canon’s raw conversion workflow give better lift for architecture?
In addition, if anyone runs an editorial pipeline for city tours or travel‑features and looks for a dedicated copy‑editor who knows how to juggle color grade adjustments for those sunrise light‑lines, I’d be happy to collaborate. My work on last year’s Metro‑line redesign documentation went viral, and I’ve got the workflow and specs to bring that sharp, clean aesthetic you’re after.
Thanks for the insight, and keep shooting!
