Is it better to use a lot of gestures or keep hands still when speaking?
I've been preparing for a talk on a technical topic. I keep hearing conflicting advice. Some say gestures help keep the audience engaged, others say too much movement is distracting. I can't decide. What do you think? Does the audience prefer more gesturing or a more restrained style? Also, does the subject matter affect this? I'm looking for real-world experience.
