#hiking tech comparisons

Remember the sting in your throat from white gas mixing with air during high-altitude hikes... you'd stare at that little green can for hours just before a trek because you couldn't remember if it was 'fuel type A' from that 1998 manual you got in a used bin. ?? I still shiver thinking how people would try to improvise with isopropanol instead and make backcountry survival a joke about 'sticky gloves and unreliable flame heights' ...

Anyway... it got me comparing how something so complex can be simplified with structure similar to optimizing conjugation patterns in ANKI with a specific pattern... Like that white gas canister had a clear fill rate, a burn-time curve, AND it failed predictably with altitude changes. If ANKI's templates can model that kind of structure (fuel input vs flame output), maybe mastering irregular verbs feels less like improvising with '90s camping alcohol burners... ??

Am I reaching for some kind of connection here? Probably... but has anyone felt like older gear failures taught similar lessons to how language structures click when visualized properly? ???
