I've been reading about the Spartans and their training methods... how much of what we know is actually supported by evidence?? It seems like a lot of the stories about their toughness and discipline are based on incomplete or biased sources. What are some credible sources that contradict or confirm the popular narrative about Spartan warriors?

i was trying to get a timeline of the roman empire straight in my head and i swear every source i look at has different dates for the same events lol like whats the point of even studying history if we cant even get the basics right rn

I've been watching a lot of history documentaries lately and I'm starting to get really frustrated with the lack of accuracy in some of them. I mean, I know it's not always easy to get every detail right, but some of these shows are just flat out wrong. I've been studying history for years and it's annoying to see things like dates, events, and even entire timelines being misrepresented. Has anyone else noticed this? I'm wondering if there are any documentaries that are particularly good at getting the facts straight. I've heard good things about the BBC's history documentaries, but I'm open to other suggestions. I just want to learn about history without having to fact-check every little thing.
