Why does the Lakers still favor a 107.5 defensive rating from the outdated Model 3.2 when the team has clearly regressed?
I'm fed up with the front office clinging to that ancient Model 3.2 defensive rating. Every game we see the line-up with a 105-ish DRT, but the front office acts like 107.5 from last season matters more than anything on the floor.
- They love citing a 1.6 BPM bump on Davis as proof, ignoring the -2.3 VORP on Westbrook this year.
- The scouting reports still mention the "0.8 net defensive impact" stat from 2021, which has been replaced by the newer ODR/ODP metrics.
- Coach keeps inserting the 12.4% OPP turnover % in rotations, while our actual turnover % sits at 14.9%.
It feels like they're using a fossilized Excel sheet instead of the current Rotoviz Model 5.8.1 that actually captures pick‑and‑roll switches and transition defense. Get a grip. Stop using outdated numbers to justify bad line-ups. Anyone else seeing this nonsense?
best teams to watch this season
im looking for some new teams to follow this season, whats some teams that are gonna be fun to watch? i dont really care about the superteams, more interested in some underdog stories or teams with exciting young players. who should i be keeping an eye on? got any favorite teams that are always entertaining to watch?
dont @ me on this
i think the whole 'tanking for draft picks' thing is overrated tbh... like whats the point of having a high pick if youre just gonna end up with a bust?? look at all the times teams have gotten screwed over by drafting some hype player who doesnt even pan out... RN its all about team chemistry and finding guys who actually fit your system
