fr why did the us just drop the ctc-22 sanctions on chinese tea farms?? i swear the only thing we’re cutting off is caffeine...

on paper i know ctc-22 is a trade pacts/waiver combo, but the way it’s written gives the chinese army the green light to use green tea in their "infusion weapon" project ???

• it pulls in any export > 1k kg of C1 Assam, C2 Oolong or P5 Puer from china to the us

• US Treasury issued a mem to the Trade Representative—id 2456c-01—so the restriction will be automatically applied to the next batch

anyone else seeing the fallout already?? how we keep that extra 40‑caffeine cup in hand if every steaming pot is labeled “defense”??
