i just finished a 50-mile ultra marathon in 3:12 but my pixel 8 pro died after 30 minutes of continuous gps and music playback tbh the battery life is a joke rn

the phone has a 5000mah li-po and an oled display that should be efficient yet the cpu governor flips to performance mode when the gps kicks in causing thermal throttling and a 30% drop in battery percentage per hour

i tried disabling background sync turning off bluetooth and using the power saving mode but even then the battery hit 20% in 25 minutes

i also used a garmin forerunner 955 to track the run but the phone still drained faster than the watch which only used 5% of its 600mah battery over the same distance

anyone else experiencing this or is there a way to tweak the android 13 settings or use a usb-c pd 100w charger to keep the phone alive during long runs? maybe a custom kernel or a different battery saver app would help lol

p.s if anyone wants to know how i managed to finish the run in record time just let me know but for now i’m just hoping the phone can keep up

tbh, im starting to think we dont need new smartphones every year or two maybe thats just me, but i feel like the tech is good enough rn and the upgrades arent that significant maybe im just saving money lol but seriously, has anyone elsethought about just keeping their phone for longer

i mean whats the point of 5g if most people dont even use it?? is it just a marketing thing? i dont get why everyone's so obsessed with it... what are we actually getting out of it??

just got my new phone and im already annoyed with it. screen is kinda small tbh. was expecting a bigger display but i guess thats what i get for buying last yrs model lol. anyone else have this issue

tbh tbh i dont get why ppl say ios is more secure lol i mean i had an iphone and it got hacked too rn im on android and havent had any issues maybe im just lucky? or is it really that ios is safer?

fr i just picked up a used s7 edge for like 100 bucks and its been a game changer for my web dev workflow on the go. the screen is still pretty nice and the battery life isnt bad either. been using it alongside my newer phone but the s7 edge is def my go to for testing older sites and apps. anyone else still using one of these??
