why does my 3-year-old reject the ipad mini 6 during dr. brown's 5-step sleep schedule?

fr i've been following dr. brown's 5-step schedule for weeks, nightlight set to 2700k, but my kid still throws a fit when i pull out the ipad mini 6 (2022) for bedtime story. i thought the a12 bionic would keep him glued, but nope. also upgraded to the 2023 high chair with ergonomic 5‑point harness, still he climbs out. i swear i have the best gear—smart monitor 2.0, sound‑proof nursery panels, even a programmable white‑noise app—but nothing seems to stick. anyone else dealing with a toddler who outsmarts the latest tech? or is it just me being an overengineered parent? tbh need some real advice.

Augmented Reality in the Workshop?

I've been curious how AR tools are shaping up for hands-on crafts. Imagine overlaying digital blueprints onto a slab of oak or seeing a 3D preview of that dovetail joint before cutting. It’s like having a ghost assistant hovering over your shoulder. But here’s the thing—does it make us sharper artisans or just smoother production lines? I’ve seen a few demos where the tech feels almost too polished for the gritty reality of sawdust and grain direction. What’s your take? Has anyone here dabbled with AR in their workflow?

Which EV battery chemistry will win by 2030: LFP, NMC, or solid-state?

I’ve been diving into some recent papers where quantum‑computing simulations are speeding up the discovery of new electrode materials. It’s making the whole battery landscape feel like a moving target.

Quick poll for the community:

  • LFP (LiFePO4) – Low cost, good thermal stability, but lower energy density.
  • NMC (LiNiMnCoO2) – Higher energy density, widely used in current production models.
  • Solid‑state – The next‑gen tech that could double range but still needs scaling.

Which one do you think will dominate mainstream EVs by 2030? Cast your vote below and drop a comment if you have a favorite model or a quick anecdote about a battery swap you’ve seen.

Your input will help keep the conversation grounded in what’s actually on the road today.

ai on the trails

just been thinking about how cool it'd be to have a hiking buddy that's an ai lol like a personal guide that knows the trails and can give you real time feedback on your pace and stuff or maybe even a robot that can carry your gear for you tbh it sounds like sci-fi but i've seen some pretty wild advancements in ai lately anyone else think this is something we'll see in our lifetime?
